More than 200 volunteers helped out giving Northern Home for Children a makeover. A number of volunteers and employees from Comcast Corporation worked on a myriad of projects through the campus.

Last week, Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. spoke with students at Roxborough High School as part of the school's Student Voices program. Jones held students' attention about how important is to start working for change now than waiting for solutions."I had a girl work on my campaign; she was troubled at home, had a number of detentions and grades were poor," said Jones. "I had her work for me anyway. During the time, she worked for me, she had no detentions, her grades improved. That girl is now an honor student."

A capacity crowd of over 200 attendees packed Keenan's Valley View Inn Sunday night to honor the 21st Ward Athletic Associations 2008 Hall of Fame Inductees.This year's inductees included: Kevin Boyle, Nina Czerpak, Ron Maiden, Rob Patete Jr. and Tom Shirley.
